SPIN CLASS

What a workout! I haven’t been to class since the spring. It is getting colder in MN and I will be putting the bike on the trainer shortly. I am wondering if I had some interference or it was a fluke, but I had my max HR at 222. I have never been above 205 before. I will have to research and keep tabs with my HRM. I have been running and biking but have done no swim. I am planning on going to a Total Immersion Swim school in February or March.

Last Run Before 5K

I put my last time in before my first official 5K. I have never entered just a 5K. I have completed a Duathlon and a Triathlon but I have never entered a 5K. Being a good catholic, here are my other fitness confessions. I hate running. I have never experienced that runners high. I tend to gravitate to shorter events. I like sprinting, or playing basketball or doing something while I am running. But running to just run? I have never got that. My next confession, during the duathlon or triathlon I have never made it the whole 5K without walking. I am usually good for about 2 miles. I can take a short 30 second to a minute break and I can usually finish. I hope to get over that hump on Friday. I am running with a buddy, so I hope that will help and can finish without walking. That is my goal. I have bigger goals for 2009 that involve longer running, so I need to get over this. Will report results this weekend.

Wow! I didn’t like the scale today. I am okay with my weight starting with a 20something and would like it to be a 19something. I am a Clydesdale by nature but 210 has got to go…….

Group Ride-St Cloud MN

My favorite bike shop, Relolution(check out my blogroll), has group rides on Tue and Thurs. Tuesdays are for the fanatics and Thursdays are for the fanatic-wannabees. It was my first time and it was a lot of fun. We had a flat tire in the group and I got to watch some pros in action. We traveled some decent hills in rural Minnesota. Anyone in central MN I would recommend this ride highly. I hope to graduate to the fanatics sometime next year….
